Waiting…

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I haven’t been able to upload anything new in the last few days. This is very sad because I’m working on 1 or 2 things that I’m pretty excited to share.

It’s because we just got to Abilene & haven’t gotten internet setup for ourselves, but I’ve been piggy-backing on a neighbor’s internet (thanks neighbor!) Of course, because I’m not sure which nice neighbor is helping me this way, & I can’t properly thank them, I’m trying to avoid too much activity so I don’t steal all their bandwidth.

Basically, long story short, I’m waiting for some internet here so I can share new things with you! However, between now & then don’t be afraid to check out my Link Love pages, which are fairly new (just before we moved) for some lovely photos & other stuff from other artists.

Besides that little update, I’ve officially registered my new business name here in Taylor County & my new brochures & business cards came in (though the business cards are waiting for me in Lubbock)!  And I love my aunt because she’s been so helpful in getting me a job opportunity.  : D  Wonderful things are happening & I’ll have some lovely images to back that up with (like I just played with my camera in Manual Focus & Manual Exposure for the first time in months!) so bear with me for a few more days (hopefully no longer) and I’ll have some new stuff up!

Dear Green Shoes,

To see the beginning letter, visit blog.tellipsisphoto.com.

Dear Green Shoes,

Christa told me that she was changing her photography name. She said it’s because no one can spell my name & she admitted it’s especially because she loves green shoes.

And I’m okay with this. I understand that people change their minds. Just a few months ago, she changed from her blogger account to WordPress & now she’s changing from me to you.  She’s even moving from Lubbock to Abilene, Texas.  I guess she’s just at a time in her life for change.

No hard feelings, Green Shoes, I promise.  In fact, I’m telling everyone all about you on my blog & my website so they can still find Christa’s photography.  Because that’s how nice I really am.

Sincerely,

Tellipsis Photography

Dear Tellipsis,

Thank you for your heart-felt wishes.  I appreciate that you’re willing to send others to Christa’s new site.

In fact, because you’ve been so understanding, she & I have agreed to leave your old watermarks & some links to your website & blog.

Also, to celebrate your understanding & the new change, Christa has promised several new uploads about albums, canvases, pricing & more.  Even though you’ve stopped being her photography name, I hope you check back here to keep up to date.

Best Wishes,

Green Shoes

Brief Interlude

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Well, as  you know, I shot my first wedding solo last weekend.  It was fantastic!  : )  But scrolling through & editing over 2000 pictures takes a long time… that’s right, you heard me, over 2000 pictures… I’ve gotten it down to around 500 though since I deleted redundant photos, closed eyes & blurs (plus I take at least 5 for each group photo so I have better chances of getting a good one – that means during group photo time, for every 5 I take, only 1 will be a keeper).  And low-light is best friends with motion blur, so they like to show up in images together.

However, I didn’t want to leave my poor little blog empty until I get the editing done, so I wanted to at least put up a little something.  And besides that, I have updates as far as my blog & site are concerned.

First, go check out my regular site(edited)www.greenshoesphoto.com.  My wonderful husband has been helping me update some of it & if you’re interested in viewing and ordering photos from the Loveland wedding, you can enter “Client Galleries” on the first page & follow the instructions to receive an email to let you know when I get some pictures posted.  Of course, if you’re just interested in the blog & not in ordering photos, keep up with this & I’ll be blogging their gorgeous images before *too* long!

Now, for a little image love:

I took that photo for my Photo I Darkroom class for Tech almost 2 years ago.  It’s an image of my uncle’s guitar from another cousin’s wedding. : )  I developed the film & printed it in the darkroom all by myself & then scanned it onto the computer so I can have the digital file forever so I couldn’t loose it!  Hurrah for digital (I loathe developing my own film!).  Anyway, you may also have seen it on my site, but I wanted to briefly add that if you’re interested in purchasing any prints of images, and they don’t have to be from a session of yours with me, do let me know.  I’d love to see this image hanging over someone’s fireplace, or in someone’s studio. Maybe I’ll do it myself when I have a fireplace or a studio!

My Weekend: Grandmother's Baby Shower & More

Monday, June 1st, 2009

Well, I was out of town this weekend so I didn’t get any editing done for my fabulous & oh, so patient friends (you know who you are!).

However, I had a fantastic weekend! Chris & I went to visit my mom & I attended her “Grandmother’s Baby Shower”. I hadn’t heard of this idea before, but I think it’s both fun & practical so it has my approval. Since my beautiful sister-in-law, Caleb, & their little boy Noah, who is about 2 months from joining this side of the world, live a few hours from my mom, her friends at work threw her a party so she could gather some necessary items to have at her house for little Noah’s arrival & visits.

This duck works not only as an ice cream holder, but also can be used as a baby bath tub. Cute, right?

Some (literally) yummy details!

This is a list of names for “grandmother” from other countries.

Here’s my sweet mother mocking me because I had trouble getting pictures with her eyes OPEN! : )

Yes, she’s playing with a teddy bear puppet.
Doesn’t she look like the best grandmother?

A lovely “Sock Corsage”, again, I’d never heard of it, but I thought it was adorable!

One last little detail.

Obviously not the baby shower. We visited the HSU campus so I played with perspective shots. Just because. I can. : )

These last two are just the gorgeous lighting as we were headed to visit my mom & the sky line of West Texas! I love Texas. : )

I haven't Forgotten you!

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

From Blogger:

Oh my little blog & all of my awesome blog readers, I haven’t forgotten you. : )

And I haven’t moved to Wordpress without telling you. That’s still in the works. But I’ve been busy doing other important things. Like sleeping, eating fabulous food & being on the beach…

Not sure what I mean? Here’s a photo hint:

Me & my fabulous Husband! : D

Anyway, if you want to see more, I’ve got some photos up on Facebook & Flickr.

I’ll have more updates soon. (I have a few fabulous sessions from earlier in the year with friends that are the BEST & most patient! Ever! Seriously.) And that move to Wordpress is still pending.. but don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted on that too!

Exhibit

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I will have an official exhibit up in the TTU School of Art. It’s on Flint & 18th (more or less) and if you enter through the South Side door, you’ll be in the middle of my work. (The School of Art is the 1 story building, not the super tall one on that intersection).

I’d love for all of my seniors & couples to go & see because about 95% of you from this year are in it! : )

It’ll be up from April 27th – May 9th. If you’re coming to my graduation (on May 9th) then we’ll all be going over there afterward (we all means my family & anyone else interested). But you don’t have to wait until the last day. Swing by & bring all your friends & tell them how awesome I am! : ) Or you can just take them & they can actually decide for themselves what they think (I’d go that route personally, but someone has to do my self-promotion).

I think I’m going to leave a little sample on here, mostly because posts are best with eye candy. However, maybe it’ll convince someone to stop by.

P.S. to everyone whose image is in the exhibit – if you like your image & are interested in buying it, do contact me about it. I promise to give a reasonable price & you can then have a unique image of yourself that was famous (haha) enough to be in an exhibit. — Oh, and the frame is included, you’ll be getting exactly what’s on the wall at the exhibit. : )

Edit: Here are the Exhibit times:

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm :: Sunday 12:00pm – 4:00pm

Parking:

BTW everyone – if you’re not going on the weekend, the best idea for parking is to go to the top level of the parking garage (near the light on 18th & flint) and pay the meter (50 cents to a dollar) to park. I don’t want anyone to get a ticket & Tech can be grumpy about their parking.

There is also parking right in front of the building, & the … Read Moreprice to park is the same but there aren’t usually open spots.

Finally, there maybe a free place to park but you’ll have to go to the Parking Booths (they’re in the middle of the street – one on 18th and Boston & one furher up Flint) and ask them because I can’t park anywhere for free since I’m a student.
